Is there a good place to look to start to learn C++ programming or Java?

I would like to learn how to program and didn't know if there was a source that is useful to a beginner... thanks in advance.I would also like to make a game, so maybe there is a better program to use, if there is please tell me.

If you just want to make games you can try GameMaker (http://www.gamemaker.nl/ ). It's free and easy, much easier than learning how to make games with languages like C++ or Java. However, it is made for 2D games so you couldn't do much 3D stuff.

this is really good I am currently a college computer science major right now and I go to this site all the time. It explains everything pretty well but remember to practice writing the code even if you don't understand what it means or what your doing, you will later on.
